Security Measures Prompt Major Tree Pruning for PM Modi and Amit Shah’s Visits | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Close to 500 trees had to be trimmed for security reasons along the routes taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah in the city.
BMC officials said besides pruning trees along Ekamra Haat stretch to facilitate the PM’s cavalcade travelling to state BJP headquarters, trees were trimmed along PMG Square to AG Square and from 120 Battalion to Rabindra Mandap. Along the Rabindra Mandap stretch, VIP delegates have been put up in the state guest house, assembly guest house, ex-MLA guest house and special circuit house.
BMC officials said 40 trees were pruned between Bayanika and Sachivalaya Marg, and from Master Canteen to PMG Square, branches of 30 trees were cut. Tree branches were also cut along the stretch from Kalinga Stadium to Kalinga Hospital Square. As many as 95 trees were trimmed around airport areas.
The BMC’s sanitation squad pressed green waste transporting vehicles to lift and remove the garbage from the stretches. The garbage bulk was taken to Micro Composting Centres (MCC) for reducing them into compost.
