Jharsuguda: A 37-year-old security guard was fatally stabbed by unidentified assailants on Thursday night in Jharsuguda district’s Keldamal village. The victim, Santosh Naik from Sonajharia village, was attacked while returning from a ceremony at a relative’s house in Kolabira block.
A passerby discovered Naik’s body and immediately alerted authorities. He was rushed to the Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. “The area has a history of snatching incidents,” said Kishan Naik, a relative of the deceased. “While I’m uncertain about the exact time of the incident, this was clearly a murder,” he said.
