Security forces seize weapons from Maoist camp in Kandhamal | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: Security forces have successfully dismantled a Maoist camp in Kandhamal district‘s Marduli area, recovering various weapons and supplies, officials said on Wednesday.
The operation that started on Jan 3 was carried out jointly by state police and CRPF personnel across Baliguda, Tumudibandh, and Thuamula Rampur regions in Kalahandi district.
“Acting on intelligence inputs, our special operation group (SOG) detected the camp under Baliguda police limits,” said Sarthak Sarangi, inspector general of police, southern range. “We recovered a country-made gun, sling, IEDs, and various ration items from the site,” he said.
The bomb disposal squad safely disposed of the IED on location. No Maoists was present during the raid, which was conducted as part of a comprehensive combing operation.
Sarangi confirmed that anti-Maoist operations have been intensified in the area following this discovery. The joint operation continues to monitor suspicious activities in the region.
