Saran police arrest two cybercriminals

Chhapra: A special team from the Saran cyber police arrested two miscreants from Asansol, West Bengal, on Thursday. Based on technical investigation, the miscreants were found guilty of defrauding a retired Army man by withdrawing Rs 33 lakh from his account under the pretense of sim card validity renewal.
Saran SP Kumar Ashish said the miscreants, identified as Subham Tanti (24) from Central Satgram Colliery, West Burdwan, West Bengal, and Mukesh Modak (31) from Bagrudih, Jamtara district, Jharkhand, had defrauded Santosh Kumar Singh, a resident of Sargatti village under Garkha police station in Saran, on May 28 this year.A case was registered in Chhapra cyber police station. Due to the seriousness of the crime, SP Ashish formed a special investigation team led by Aman, deputy SP-cum-SHO of cyber police station.
In another development, SP Ashish announced the suspension of assistant sub-inspector Sheo Shankar Sharma of Rasulpur PS the district on Friday. Sharma is accused of accepting a Rs 30,000-bribe from one Amit Kumar Singh. Sharma has been directed to report to Chhapra police lines and provide an explanation for his actions.
