Saran cops rescue 87 trafficked kids

Chhapra: Police with the assistance of anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU), Saran, Mission ‘Mukti’ Foundation, New Delhi and Child Line, Saran, rescued 87 children from the clutches of child traffickers and arrested 31 accused last year. Saran SP Kumar Ashish said on Sunday that other accused would be arrested soon.
He said to raise awareness against child trafficking and atrocities against women and children, police have started a programme called “Awaz Do”, through which many women have raised their voice.
He added that people should inform the police about any incident concerning eve-teasing, domestic violence, demand for dowry, physical and mental atrocities. He advised the parents of girls to devote more time with them and keep an eye on their social media activities.

Police station inspected in Saran
Saran SP Kumar Ashish inspected Jalalpur police station, directing the SHO to enhance citizen-centric policing, rectify record errors, clear pending cases, and maintain cleanliness. He also encouraged the woman officer at the mahila help desk to be supportive. Additionally, chowkidars Raj Kishore Manjhi and Vikas Manjhi received Rs 1,000 for exemplary information gathering.
