Bhubaneswar: Renowned radio artiste and classical vocalist Sanujkta Roy died at her residence in the city on Saturday. She was 91. Family members said she was suffering from age-related ailments.
Commencing her career as an artiste with All India Radio, Cuttack, during its inauguration in 1948, she later performed for the Bombay and Delhi stations. She graced numerous stages across the nation and particularly cherished her performances at Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry.She had many acclaimed Odia songs to her credit, including ‘Bata Chada Subhata Nagar’, ‘Mane Paduchi Bou’, ‘Udigala Gendalia’, ‘Baga Baguli’ and ‘Mahua Bane lo’.TNN
