SAMS website opens for spot admission

Bhubaneswar: The higher education department on Friday issued a notification for opening the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) website for spot admission into UG, PG, and two-year BEd/MEd courses in higher education institutions. Admission into these courses is over. This fresh exercise is being done for admission to the remaining vacant seats in UG, PG, and two-year BEd/MEd courses at the higher education institutions (HEIs) participating under SAMS.
Applicants can fill up the Common Application Form by visiting the SAMS portal. To take part in the spot admission process, applicants must have appeared in the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET-2024) and BEd/MEd entrance examination respectively and must have obtained a rank.
In the spot admission process, both admitted and non-admitted students are eligible to participate in UG, PG, and two-year BEd/MEd courses. “If an applicant took admission in any of the HEIs in earlier phases and got selected in this spot admission round, she/he has to obtain the college leaving certificate (CLC) physically from the last admitted HEI within a maximum of seven days on or before Nov 28,” said the guideline of the spot admission issued by the department.
The selection of the applicants will be done purely on a merit basis. There will be no reservation and weightage for this spot admission round.
The application form will be available online from Nov 11. The last date for applying for this process is Nov 15. The rank-wise list of applicants will be published at 4 pm on Nov 19. Applicants will physically report to the educational institution with supporting documents on Nov 21.
The institutions will prepare the merit list among those reported applicants at 4:30 pm on Nov 21. The selected candidates will subsequently take admission in the institutions by paying admission fee. Data of admission will be updated by Nov 28.
