Sambalpur Police Crack Down on Drug Trafficking: 122kg Ganja Seized and Two Arrested | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur police seized around 122kg of ganja and arrested two persons from a scrap godown in Kuluthkani area under Dhanupali police station limits of Sambalpur district on Monday.
The accused were identified as Sameer Mahanandia (28) and Somnath Das (35).
Sub-divisional police officer Tophan Bag said around 3:45pm on Sunday, a police team raided a scrap godown based on information from reliable sources and caught the two accused. During the search, the team recovered five plastic gunny bags containing ganja in dry and unprocessed form.
As the two accused could not provide satisfactory answers for the possession of ganja, they were nabbed. Police also seized three mini-trucks on which they were planning to transport the ganja. The total quantity of ganja packed in five bags was 122kg and 760g.
