RPF fines 581 individuals for spitting, littering at city rail station | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Railway Protection Force (RPF) penalised 581 individuals for spitting and littering at Bhubaneswar Railway Station last month, collecting a total of Rs 1,17,100 in fines.
The enforcement drive, led by a special task force under Khurda road division of East Coast Railway (ECoR), is part of ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness across railway premises. The task force consists of station managers, ticket collectors, RPF personnel and officials from commercial and operating departments.
A parallel awareness campaign featuring public announcements, posters, and media outreach was launched to educate passengers about cleanliness regulations. “Maintaining cleanliness is not just about compliance, but public health as well,” said an ECoR spokesperson. “We urge passengers to use designated dustbins and facilities, helping create a cleaner railway environment,” the spokesperson added.
