Rowdy partying on Ugadi with friends hacked to death in Karnataka | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: A 34-year-old rowdy was hacked to death by a group of people on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night. The deceased, Manjunath alias Nepali Manja, was staying in Kunigal, Tumakuru district.
He had come to party with his friends for Ugadi when the gang attacked him at 9.30 pm.
Manja, called Nepali Manja because he was fair, was booked under the Goonda Act and released from jail six months ago. Citing primary investigation, police said Manja, who was staying in Kunigal for the last five months.
Manja earlier stayed in Gollahalli near Anekal. His friends invited him for Ugadi party and he arrived at Gollahalli in the afternoon. He and his friends were consuming liquor from afternoon. At 9.30pm, a group of people attacked him with lethal weapons and fled. Manja sustained injuries on his head, stomach, chest, and arms and died on the spot.
According to police, Manja’s rivals, rowdy-sheeter Jagadish alias Jagga, and his associates committed the murder. A special team has been formed to nab the accused. Manja was involved in 21 cases, including murder, attempt to murder, and assault. He was banished from Bengaluru a couple of times.
After being released from jail, he moved to Kunigal along with his family. He wanted to come out of the criminal world, police said.
