Row erupts over PK’s vanity van | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: As Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor‘s indefinite fast over the alleged BPSC question paper leak entered its third day on Saturday, a controversy erupted over a “vanity van” parked near his protest site at Gandhi Maidan.
Responding to questions about the van, Kishor said, “If I am sitting here on fast, where should I go to attend to nature’s call? The govt must provide such a van and I will happily use it. Some claim the van costs Rs 2 crore, others say its rent is Rs 25 lakh per day. Let them take it away and give me Rs 25 lakh per day with an alternative washroom space.” Kishor clarified that he had been using the van during his two-year state tour.
Leader of opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav mocked Kishor, saying such vans are typically used by actors. “We know who the producers and directors are here. Kishor should explain why he was appointed JD(U) vice-president on BJP leader Amit Shah’s instructions as revealed by CM Nitish Kumar,” Tejashwi said.
Kishor reiterated his demand for justice for the protesting students, alleging a paper leak in the 70th BPSC exam. He compared the situation to the Centre’s eventual withdrawal of farm laws, urging the govt to cancel the exam or face youth backlash.
Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh criticized Kishor for holding a dharna in a restricted area. “He was served a notice on Thursday to vacate the spot. Action will be taken as per the Patna high court’s 2015 order, which allows protests only at Gardanibagh,” Singh said.
