Bhubaneswar: Former Congress leader Suresh Kumar Routray faced backlash on Monday for his controversial statement regarding freedom fighter Madho Singh. He said he was unaware of who Madho Singh was. Several groups protested his comment, including Padma Shri Haldhar Nag. It must be noted that in the recent budget, the govt introduced a new scheme named after Madho Singh and intended for schoolchildren.When asked about the scheme, Sura said it should have been named after Madhusudan Das, and that Madho Singh was not from Odisha.
