Road Repair Urgency for Pilgrimage Season in Gaya | Patna News – Times of India


Gaya: Road construction department additional chief secretary (ACS), Pratyaya Amrit inspected the Patna-Jehanabad-Gaya-Dobhi road (NH-83) on Thursday to review progress of the construction work.
The ACS instructed the officials to get all the roads in bad condition repaired before the Pitripaksh mela. He also said that the road from Varanasi to Gaya should also be repaired.
“Good road is very important for seamless journey of pilgrims coming Gaya from different parts of the country and abroad, as it showcases the image of the district,” he told the officials.
DM, Gaya, Thiyagarajan SM informed the ACS that deployment of magistrate and police force have been made to eliminate the hindrance point at each patch of NH-83 falling in Gaya district.
The DM made available list of 30 roads to the ACS, which are very important during Pitripaksh mela.
Some roads in Gaya urban area, cut by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) to lay pipeline for water supply, were being repaired, he said. Further, the BUIDCO will be required to obtain no objection certificate to cut more roads, the DM said.
