Road blocked to protest ‘kidnapping’ of youth | Patna News – Times of India



Patna: Former BJP MLA from Danapur Assembly constituency, Asha Sinha, along with hundreds of her supporters blocked the vehicular traffic on Danapur-Gandhi Maidan main road on Sunday to protest against the alleged kidnapping of a youth of Shahpur area in Patna district.
The missing youth is son of a BJP worker and a resident of Shahpur. He has been missing since June 21.The youth had reportedly called his parents on Saturday night, seeking help to rescue him from the kidnappers. He had also mentioned names his two friends, linked to some online gaming platform, behind the kidnapping, police said.
According to police, the missing youth has been identified as Ashu Kumar (19), son of Rajesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Defence Colony under Shahpur police station area. Rajesh filed a kidnapping complaint at the police station.
Police said Ashu had left for Saran by a train on June 21 to take an exam, which was to be held on June 23. But Ashu called on the cellphone of his mother on Saturday night and mentioned that his two friends, Mayank and Shivam, had held him hostage, they added.
Danapur ASP, Diksha said, “Ashu was addicted to online gaming and lottery. He had taken a loan of Rs 5 lakh from some person. The police conducted a raid in a rented flat in Danapur’s Gola Road and detained two suspects. An agreement of the loan was also recovered during the raid. It appears that Ashu is hiding somewhere to get money from his father to repay the loan. Further investigation is going on in the matter.”
