RJD Tejashwi Yadav Yatra Focus on People’s Issues | Patna News – Times of India

RJD: Tejashwi to raise people’s voice in yatra

Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has started preparations for the upcoming yatra to be undertaken by its leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav from next week in the state. Though, the final date of the yatra has not been announced yet, it is expected to begin around August 17, party sources said. The party has instructed its functionaries and workers to remain stationed in their respective areas and work at micro level, rather than crowding around Tejashwi.
“The motive of the yatra is to know the ground reality and difficulties being faced by the people and raise their voices.Tejashwi Ji is a leader of the masses and definitely spending time among people is his priority,” said RJD state spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan.
“Be it present or former legislators, as well as parliamentarians, they all have to be in their areas. It is seen that whenever Tejashwi Ji embarks on the yatra or goes for any campaign, the party leaders in large numbers circle him. In fact, he is totally surrounded by the RJD leaders, giving little or no space to the locals to interact with him. Hence, this time a strict instruction has been given to the party workers in this regard,” said a senior party leader. He further said that the route plan was yet to be finalised and the younger Yadav scion was monitoring it himself. However, the stress will be on Kosi as well as Seemanchal region during the yatra.
This yatra is being seen as a preparatory exercise ahead of the 2025 assembly elections, and the idea is to remain connected to the masses. Earlier, Tejashwi had said that he would raise the issue of denial of special status to Bihar, not putting the hiked quota in the ninth schedule so that it gets immunity from legal scrutiny, increasing crime and other issues pertaining to people when he moves during the yatra.
