Revenue inspector arrested for accepting bribe | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: Vigilance officials arrested a revenue inspector on Saturday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a landowner in Kandhamal district. Debasis Nayak, the revenue inspector of Krandibali in Phiringia tehsil, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe at his office. He allegedly demanded the money to process paperwork related to a brick kiln on the complainant’s land.
Following the arrest, vigilance officials conducted raids at two locations linked to Nayak to uncover potential ill-gotten assets. The total value of seized properties is yet to be determined, according to vigilance sources. “The entire bribe amount has been recovered from the accused,” said a senior vigilance official. Berhampur vigilance unit has registered a case under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
