Revanth urges irrigation officials to secure 70% Krishna water share for Telangana | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy directed the irrigation officials to make efforts for our state to get a 70% share in Krishna waters and argue before the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal(KWDT) accordingly. He said that of the total Krishna basin, 70% is in Telangana and only 30% in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that Telangana should get an allocation for all the irrigation projects which were started before Telangana’s formation.The CM held a review meeting with irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and irrigation officials on irrigation projects in the state on Wednesday.Since AP is drawing Godavari water through Pattiseema, our irrigation department should come up with proposals to utilise 90 TMCFT of water above the Pattiseema. The CM also said the irrigation projects on Krishna should be completed on priority by June 2027, especially Palamuru-Ranga Reddy till Uddandapur immediately, and all the works should be done in the next 18 months and Koilsagar project by June 2026.
