Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to ensure proper planning in the construction and alignment of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), radial roads, and related infrastructure. He emphasized that the design and connectivity of junctions must cater to the needs of motorists for the next 50 years.The CM held a review meeting at his residence to assess progress on the RRR’s southern corridor, radial roads, and other key routes. He instructed officials to conduct a Lidar survey in advance, taking into account forest areas, water resources, mandal centres, and villages. He stressed the importance of error-free alignment and called for comprehensive planning.“The radial roads should align with the planned satellite townships and industrial parks,” the CM said. “Construction of radial roads connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the RRR must be expedited. Additionally, trumpet junctions should be built at points where national and state highways exit Hyderabad and intersect the RRR, allowing motorists to pass without signals or congestion.”CM Revanth Reddy also proposed suggestions for the elevated corridor along the Hyderabad – Srisailam National Highway and urged early finalization of an alternative alignment for a new road from ORR to Mancherial, intended to serve as an alternative to the Rajiv Rahadari state highway. He directed that the project be completed in the shortest possible time.“The suitability of setting up industrial parks on this route should be examined. Officials should coordinate with the National Highways officials and speed up the projects,” he said.On Monday, the CM met Union minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, urging early financial and Cabinet approval for the RRR’s northern corridor. He sought central support for the simultaneous development of the northern and southern corridors, sanction of the Hyderabad – Amaravati Greenfield Expressway, an elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam on NH 765, and the development of radial roads connecting the ORR and RRR, as part of the Hyderabad–Dindi–Mannanur and Hyderabad–Mancherial Greenfield highways.MSID:: 120939555 413 |
