Retired CRPF Constable Murdered Over Land Dispute: Three Arrested in Khagaria | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: A retired Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was shot dead while he was plucking flowers near his house in Parbatta police station area of Khagaria district on Wednesday. Three people, including a woman, were arrested, police said, adding the victim had a land dispute with his relative for several years.
According to the police, several rounds were fired at the deceased, identified as Vidhanchandra Mishra (55), a resident of Dumaria Buzurg village in Parbatta area. He was rushed to Parbatta community health centre (CHC), where doctors declared him brought dead.
The local police reached the CHC and seized the body, even as the family members and villagers protested against the murder, refusing to hand it over. Upon receiving the information about the incident, Gogri subdivisional police officer (SDPO), Ramesh Kumar, along with forces from several police stations, reached the centre and sent the body for autopsy to sadar hospital.
Gogri SDPO Kumar said the brother of the the deceased, Dhananjay Mishra, in his statement to the police, mentioned that there was an ongoing land dispute between Vidhanchandra and their relative Bhawesh Mishra, who was also a neighbour. “An FIR was registered against Bhawesh, his brother Khagesh, wife and two other members of the same family. Of them Bhawesh, Khagesh and the woman were arrested.”
The SDPO added that the FSL team collected evidence, including two bullet heads and an empty shell, from the crime scene. “They seized nine empty bullet shells, a live cartridge, weapon cleaning materials and other objectionable items from the accused’s house, leading to the arrest of three suspects. The CCTV footage was recovered from the DVR seized from the house of the accused. Raids are being carried out to nab the remaining accused,” he said.
