Retired Banker’s House Burgled, Valuables Worth Rs 2 Lakh Missing in Patna | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Unidentified burglars decamped with valuables worth Rs 2 lakh from a retired banker’s house at Mitra Mandal Colony in Saket Vihar under Phulwarisharif police station area of the city on Wednesday night.
The incident took place when the house owner, Shankar Saran, was out of station with his wife for a medical consultation in Delhi.
According to police, one of Saran’s neighbours informed him about the incident in the wee hours of Thursday.On being informed, a police team led by Phulwarisharif SI Satish Prasad visited the place of occurrence and checked the house in presence of Saran’s close relatives living in the same locality.
“Along with gold and silver jewellery, burglars also took away the CCTV cameras’ DVR so that police could not get any clue about their identities. Locks of almirahs, bed rooms, padlocks and latches were found broken. The miscreants also damaged some CCTV cameras installed on the house premises,” said Shafir Alam, station house officer of Phulwarisharif police station. A case was registered under Sections 331(4) and 305 BNS in connection with the matter, and further investigation was going on, he said.
This is the third incident of theft in the Block B, Mitra Mandal Colony, during the past two months. The residents are alarmed by this incident, as incidents of snatching have been on the rise in this area.
They have demanded to intensify night patrolling in the area to check recurrence of such incidents.
