NEW DELHI: Maharashtra’s chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday refuted claims about 107 Pakistani citizens being missing, labelling such reports as unfounded. He urged people to refrain from circulating such inaccurate information.
In his capacity as Home Minister, Fadnavis told reporters, “As Home Minister, I want to make it clear that the reports of 107 Pakistani citizens going missing are baseless and such misleading information should not be spread.”
He confirmed that all Pakistani citizens have been located and preparations are ongoing for their departure from the country. He stated that appropriate measures are in place to ensure no Pakistani national remains in the country, anticipating their return by evening or the following morning.
The state administration has confirmed the tracking of Pakistani citizens and is coordinating their departure with necessary arrangements in place.
Officials expect the process to conclude by evening or the following morning, ensuring all individuals return to Pakistan.
Following the Pahalgam terror incident, the central government implemented strict measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty and shutting down the Attari border’s integrated check post.
The administration has revoked visas issued under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme. India has designated Pakistani High Commission‘s Defence, Military, Naval and Air Advisors as Persona Non Grata, requiring their departure within seven days.
Additionally, India is withdrawing its Defence, Navy and Air Advisors from its High Commission in Islamabad. These positions at both High Commissions have been abolished, and five support staff members from both missions will also be withdrawn.
