RD Women’s University gets monumental flagpole | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Rama Devi Women’s University on Wednesday received a 108-ft monumental flagpole. A national flag measuring 25 ft in length and 24 ft in width was hoisted on the flagpole installed in front of the university’s administrative building with the support of Flag Foundation of India.
Odisha assembly speaker Surama Padhy, deputy chief minister KV Singh Deo, along with vice-chancellor Aparajita Chowdhury, hoisted the national flag.
Padhy, an alumnus of the university, said hoisting the national flag on the university campus would instil nationalism among students. She thanked the vice-chancellor and others for planning year-long events to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Maa Rama Devi.
Singh Deo advised students to learn about the history of the country and the world, as well as the glorious history of Odisha.
