Rath Yatra: Servitors assure CM of timely rituals | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Servitors of Puri Jagannath Temple on Thursday met chief minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday and pledged their support to the govt to ensure that the ensuing Rath Yatra on July 7 is conducted smoothly.
“The chief minister sought the cooperation of servitors for timely and smooth conduct of rituals. The servitors assured to extend their support,” a statement from the chief minister’s office said.
On July 16, Majhi had held a high-level meeting with senior govt officials to ensure a hassle-free Rath Yatra.
The conduct of the Rath Yatra this year will be a challenging affair as the rituals of two preceding days would be performed on the day of Rath Yatra.
Nabajouban Darshan and Netra Utsav are usually observed on two separate days preceding Rath Yatra. This year, the rituals of Nabajauban Darshan and Netra Utsav will be performed on the same day the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra are pulled. Such a thing had last happened in 1971.
