Rath Yatra to begin at 2pm in city today

Patna: As the state capital is all set to celebrate the grand Jagannath Rath Yatra on Sunday, ISKCON, among other city temples, has made preparations to mark the occasion with great pomp and show. The events in Patna would be in line with the famous Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha.
The event at ISKCON will feature a 40-foot-tall hydraulic chariot adorned with flowers, including roses, marigolds, orchids, and gerbera daisies sourced from Bangaluru, Kolkata, and Thailand.The chariot will be decorated with intricate paintings and designs like shankhas and marigolds on the wheels. The ISKCON temple will also be decked up with colourful lights, and a pandal has been set up for the devotees.
Krishna Kripa Das, ISKCON Patna’s president, said, “Separate pandals have been set up for male and female devotees in front of the temple. A painting of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu will be placed on the chariot. Prasad is being prepared on a large scale for distribution, including packets of peanuts, sugar crystals, and fennel seeds, which will be distributed to devotees along the route.”
He added that the Rath Yatra would commence at 2pm with aarti as well as puja and would proceed through various locations in Patna.
