Rains in parts of Thane; city records highest minimum temperature | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Lights rains were recorded in parts of Kamothe, Panvel and Kalyan on Monday afternoon.
IMD said that these were only passing showers and that dry conditions would prevail for the rest of the day. However, Mumbai saw no rains through the day.
The IMD in its forecast for Tuesday has predicted light rains and thundershowers for parts of Thane and Raigad while dry weather conditions for Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures recorded on Monday were the highest for this year. The IMD Santacruz observatory recorded night temperatures of 30 degrees which was 2.3 degrees above normal the Colaba observatory recorded minimum temperatures of 28.7 degrees which was one degree above normal. Day temperatures recorded by the IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatory meanwhile was 35.6 degrees and 35.5 degrees respectively. The official onset date for monsoon over Mumbai is June 11.
