Railways to run more summer spl trains to manage passengers’ rush | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR ) will run special passenger trains on the Saharsa-Sirhind (Punjab), Darbhanga-Amritsar, Patna-Mangalore and Danapur-Vapi routes to clear huge summer rush of passengers. The railways has already extended the services of several pairs of passenger trains originating from the ECR on different routes.
According to the ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, the Saharsa-Sirhind (05575/05576) has been put into operation from Wednesday, which left Saharsa at 7.30pm and will reach Sirhind on Friday at 12.05am.“On its return journey, it will leave Sirhind on Friday at 2am and reach Saharsa on Saturday at 9.45pm,” he said, adding that the train is running via Mansi-Khagaria-Samastipur-Darbhanga-Raxaul-Narkatiaganj route with a load composition of 15 sleeper coaches.
Similarly, the Darbhanga-Amritsar (05559/05560) will leave Darbhanga on Thursday at 8.20pm and reach Amritsar on Saturday at 1.25am. “On its return journey, it will leave Amritsar on Saturday at 4.25am and reach Darbhanga on Sunday at 10am,” the CPRO said, adding that the train will run via Samastipur-Muzaffarpur-Hajipur-Chhapra route with a load composition of 14 sleeper coaches.
“The Patna-Mangalore Central (03243/03244) will leave Patna every Saturday on June 15, 22 and 29 at 10.30pm and reach Mangalore Central on Tuesday at 7am. On its return journey, it will leave Mangalore Central every Tuesday on June 18, 25 and July 2 at 8pm and reach Patna on Friday at 5.30am,” Kumar said.
Likewise, the Vapi-Danapur (09063/09064) will leave Vapi every Friday, Saturday and Tuesday from June 14 to July 13 at 10pm and reach Danapur on the third day at 8am. “On its return journey, it will leave Danapur every Thursday, Sunday and Monday from June 16 to July 15 at 11am and reach Vapi the next day at 11.30pm via the DDU-Prayagraj Chheoki-Ujjain-Surart route.
