Railways cancels 26 passenger trains

Patna: The railways has cancelled at least 26 passenger trains either originating from or passing through the jurisdiction of the East Central Railway (ECR) due to track doubling and non-interlocking (NI) work being carried out on the Shahjahanpur–Lucknow section of the Moradabad division under Northern Railway (NR) from July 25 onwards.
ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said the Amritsar–Purnia Court Express will be cancelled from July 25 to August 7, while the Jammu Tawi–Barauni Express will remain cancelled from July 26 to August 4.“Similarly, the Darbhanga–Jalandhar City Express will not run from July 27 to August 4. The Chandigarh–Dibrugarh Express will be cancelled from July 29 to August 4, while the Danapur–Anand Vihar Express will remain cancelled from August 1 to 5,” he said.
In addition, the Singrauli–Tanakpur Express will be cancelled on July 31, August 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, and the Shaktinagar–Tanakpur Express will be cancelled on July 30, August 1, 3, and 4, the CPRO said. Besides, the Saharsa–Amritsar Express will not run on August 3, 4, and 5, while the Lalgarh–Dibrugarh Express will be cancelled on July 29, August 1, and 2. The Jammu Tawi–Guwahati Express will be cancelled on July 31 and August 2 and the Bhagat Ki Kothi (Jodhpur)–Kamakhya Express will not run on July 26, 30, August 2, and 6, he said.
The New Jalpaiguri–Amritsar Express will remain cancelled on July 24, 26, 31, August 2 and 7, while the Kamakhya–Vaishno Devi Katra Express will be cancelled on July 24, 28, and 31, the CPRO said.
