Navi Mumbai: Swift action by a Panvel City Municipal Corporation electrical engineer, Pritam Patil, helped avert a potentially fatal power supply related accident in Kharghar division’s Pendhar village. On May 22, around 1am, Patil and his family members were returning to their Panvel home after attending a wedding, when he noticed a live low tension (440 Volts) MSEDCL power conductor fallen on the road. As it was raining, and the 20m-long cable connected to the underground power supply network was lying open on the wet road, he alerted PCMC electrical supervisor Rohan Bhoir, who, in turn, informed MSEDCL and the power supply was immediately cut off.PCMC chief Mangesh Chitale and other senior officials later felicitated Patil.
