PATNA: Suspected members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have allegedly issued a fresh threat to Independent MP from Purnia, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, asking him to either tender an apology or be ready face dire consequences. This marks the 19th threat to the MP in just over a month.
In a 13-second video sent to Yadav, a man claiming to belong to the Bishnoi gang warned the MP to apologise to “Bishnoi Sahab” to avoid an attack on his life. “We are from the Bishnoi gang and have reached Patna. We ask you to tender an apology to Bishnoi Sahab,” the man was heard saying in the video. He further declares that if Yadav fails to comply, they will “eliminate him within the next 5-6 days” but promises to retreat if the MP apologises. The person issuing the threat does so with an uncovered face, adding an audacious touch to the intimidation.
However, Yadav has refused to back down. His spokesperson, Rajesh Yadav, questioned the rationale behind the apology demand and said, “What crime has he committed? Why would he seek an apology?” He clarified that the MP has no personal rivalry with the Bishnoi gang and highlighted the lack of action from the govt and investigative agencies regarding these repeated threats.
The threats began after Yadav publicly vowed to dismantle the Bishnoi gang’s network following Baba Siddique’s murder in Mumbai, which the gang is suspected to have orchestrated.
