Puri shrine to enforce stricter ban on phones, drones | Bhubaneswar News

Puri: Jagannath Temple administration has decided to introduce strict punitive measures under the Shri Jagannath Temple Act, 1952, to curb two specific violations—bringing mobile phones inside the sacred premises and operating drones above the temple
“We will introduce a clause in the Act to deal with violators strictly. The proposed changes aim to enforce stricter regulations, including a complete ban on mobile phones inside the temple premises and restrictions on drone activity above the temple,” the temple’s chief administrator, Arabinda Padhee, said on Saturday.
Padhee also announced that the agriculture department will soon launch a project to supply organic rice for temple rituals. Meanwhile, a technical team has been assigned to install an air conditioning system in the temple’s Nat Mandap, which will be completed soon.
Padhee added that the temple administration is planning to launch a YouTube channel on Odia New Year (Akshaya Tritiya) to share important information related to the shrine and its rituals with devotees. Besides, during the Rath Yatra festival, an information centre will be set up in front of the Gundicha Temple, and an independent budget will be prepared for the temple’s expenses.
