PU colleges gear up to welcome new pupils, induction tomorrow | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: As Patna University (PU) reopened on Monday after a monthlong summer vacation, the colleges affiliated to it have geared up to start their new academic session with the induction of graduation first year students on Wednesday.
Classes of the fresh batch will start on July 4, even as admission of students to the four-year degree programmes under regular stream and three-year self-financed courses is still going on, said PU dean of students’ welfare Anil Kumar.
The university on Monday published the list of applicants on its website for the “spot admission” round to fill up the vacant seats in its colleges. The applicants will be admitted in order of merit between 10am and 4pm on July 2, 4 and 5, said the dean.
As many 1,210 seats are vacant in regular courses in the faculties of arts, science and commerce in different colleges, whereas 246 seats are vacant in different self-financed courses.
Kumar said that the admission of students under various quota (reserved for wards of teachers and non-teaching staff and students having proficiency in sports and fine arts) will be held after the end of regular admissions. Seats in different hostels of the colleges will be allocated later, he said.
Meanwhile, online submission of applications for admission of students to the regular postgraduate courses of PU has already commenced and the last date of submission is July 15.
The last date for online submission of applications for admission to the postgraduate professional courses is July 18.
