Chennai: AIADMK MLA S Jayakumar on Thursday said people of Kavuthampalayam village in Tirupur district had been protesting for 683 days against the proposed 400KV tower line project saying it was an archaeologically significant site. “The world’s tallest hero stone was excavated there and the tower line is proposed just 50 feet from the site,” he said. To that, minister M P Saminathan said the tower line project was announced during the previous AIADMK govt but added that he would inform minister for archaeology Thangam Thennarasu to look into it.tnn
