Property dealer shot dead in city, mayor’s son booked | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Two armed assailants gunned down a property dealer, Arun Kumar, 40, near Malia Shiva Temple under Alamganj police station area in Patna City in the state capital on Sunday. He was immediately rushed to NMCH, where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’. Land dispute is said to be the reason behind the killing.
A video of the incident was captured on the CCTV installed in the area.Police said the family members of the deceased in the FIR have alleged involvement of Patna mayor, Sita Sahu’s son, Shishir Kumar, in the case. The mayor could not be contacted for her comments despite repeated attempts and she did not respond to a message dropped by TOI.
Police said that the CCTV footage showed Arun walking outside his house on Jalla Road in Patna City. In the meantime, two people approached Arun and started firing indiscriminately on him after which he fell down.
Patna City ASP, RS Sharath said, “The incident occurred around 5am. Arun also had a criminal history and was earlier imprisoned in Arms Act case. The reason behind the murder is still not clear, but prima facie land dispute appears to be the reason behind the killing.”
Alamganj SHO, Rajiv Kumar said that an FIR against nine named accused has been filed by the family members of the deceased. The accused also include the name of Shishir Kumar, son of Patna mayor, the SHO said, adding that Arun was a property dealer and also he undertook small electrical contractual work in the Railways.
