Property dealer found dead, two arrested | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: Two persons were arrested on Wednesday on the charge of killing a Muzaffarpur property dealer, who was allegedly abducted on July 29 and found dead by the roadside, barely a kilometre away from Alinagar police station in Darbhanga district, on Tuesday evening. The family members have alleged that he was killed over a land dispute.
Police said that the deceased has been identified as Mukesh Pandey (44), a resident of Hathauri police station area in Muzaffarpur.Mukesh’s brother Rajiv Pandey identified the body on Wednesday from a photograph circulated by the Darbhanga police. He told police Mukesh had gone to see his plot in Garha area of Muzaffarpur on Monday when he was assaulted and abducted in an SUV.
Muzaffarpur city superintendent of police (SP) Awadhesh Dixit said the family suspected that the abduction and possible murder were due to the land dispute and filed an FIR at Garha outpost under Ahiyapur police station.
“Three persons, including main accused Munna Khan and his son Shahnawaz, were named in the FIR. Besides, 10 other unidentified people were also made accused. The police detained six, including Khan’s two sons and wife,” he said.
