President Droupadi Murmu’s Upcoming 5-Day Odisha Visit Highlights Key Events | Bhubaneswar News


Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will witness the Indian Navy’s display of its formidable maritime capabilities and operational strength at Puri’s Blue Flag beach on the occasion of Navy Day on Dec 4.
She will reach the state on Dec 3 for a five-day visit and will take part in different programmes.
She will also go to Mayurbhanj, her home district. Her scheduled visit to Odisha last month in Oct was cancelled at the last moment due to Cyclone Dana that hit the Odisha coast.
Sources said she will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Dec 3 and attend various programmes in Puri on Dec 4 and Bhubaneswar, including the 40th convocation of OUAT and the inauguration of a new judicial court complex, on Dec 5.
On Dec 6, the president will go to her home district, Mayurbhanj, and is scheduled to stay at her residence in Rairangpur and attend several programmes.
The president will also visit Rairangpur Women’s College and interact with students and faculty and later offer prayers at Puneswar Mahadev Temple.
The following day, she will meet locals in the morning and will go to Bangiriposh to lay the foundation stone for three railway projects – Badampahar-Kendujhargarh, Bangriposi-Gorumahisani, and Buramara-Chakulia. Murmu will also lay foundation stones for a Tribal Research Centre and a sub-divisional hospital via video conferencing before returning to Delhi via a special flight from Kolkata’s defence airbase.
