Preparations in full swing for PM’s visit on Friday | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Massive preparations are underway for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Friday visit to celebrate one year of the BJP govt in Odisha. Odisha police and members of Special Protection Group (SPG) held a review meeting for the PM’s security at the city airport on Tuesday. “We are preparing as per protocol. There was an assessment of the route that the PM will take and the site where he will address the public meeting,” twin cities’ police commissioner S Dev Datta Singh told TOI.As per the tentative programme, the PM will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport after 3.30 pm and will be accorded a traditional welcome. The PM will embark on a roadshow to Janata Maidan, around 7 km from the airport, where he will address the public. With the IMD forecasting heavy rain on Friday, the govt is preparing the venue in a way that inclement weather will not disturb the public meeting. Revenue minister Suresh Pujari and transport minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena also reviewed the preparedness. The PM will release Odisha vision documents 2036 and 2047, which are among the key things setting a road map for the BJP’s plan of action for the next two decades in the state. “The PM will also meet certain prominent citizens on the sidelines of the visit and launch a few govt programmes, the details of which are still being worked out,” a govt officer said.PM Modi’s visit to Odisha, marking his sixth trip to the state within a year, will bolster chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s political influence during his early tenure, BJP members opined. The PM’s consistent public support across various platforms has visibly strengthened Majhi’s governance approach and political authority, they said.“The PM’s vocal support and recognition of the Majhi administration have significantly elevated both the CM’s reputation and the public confidence in our new govt. His frequent visits have energised party workers and resonated positively with citizens. The upcoming visit will undoubtedly reinforce the govt’s credibility further,” said BJP’s Dilip Mohanty.
