Patna: A total of 22,000 students took admissions to Degree Part-I regular courses at different colleges of Patliputra University (PPU) located in Patna and Nalanda districts for the academic session 2024-28, during the spot round of the admission process on Saturday. This took the total number of admissions to 82,000 in the Degree Part-I regular courses in arts, science and commerce streams so far against the sanctioned strength of 1.25 lakh seats, said PPU’s dean of students’ welfare (DSW) A K Nag.
According to Nag, a close assessment of the admission procedure revealed that 98 % seats have been filled at all the city-based colleges, particularly A N College; College of Commerce, Arts and Science; J D Women’s College and TPS College in all the three streams under the four-year choice based credit system, he said.Nag added 95 % seats have been filled in other constituent colleges in Patna district.

The university will take stock of the vacant seats at both the constituent and affiliated colleges in semi-urban and rural areas on Monday. Accordingly, the university will notify the exact position of the vacant seats in each college, the DSW said, adding the university has already started its new academic session and classes for the Degree Part-I regular courses from July 4.
