Police visit Bharti’s house to look for son | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: Purnia police visited the official residence of former minister and RJD leader Bima Bharti on Tuesday in search of her son Raja Kumar in connection with the murder case of businessman Gopal Yaduka, who was shot dead in Purnia on June 2.
According to the police, two individuals, a shooter and a plotter, who had been arrested earlier, had confessed to the involvement of Raja, who is also an RJD leader.Police claimed Bharti’s son had allegedly contracted the killer for Rs 5 lakh to bump off the businessman.
Bharti was livid with the police action, alleging that the police entered her residence without a search warrant. “I am not a terrorist or a criminal. Me and my family are being harassed. The police entered a woman’s house without a female officer. They are operating under political pressure. The state government is targeting me and my family members,” Bharti alleged.
The former JD(U) minister who had joined the RJD before the elections, further claimed that her 18-year-old son was being falsely implicated in the murder case related to a land dispute, just like her husband, Awadhesh Mandal.
