Police SI suffers heatstroke on poll duty, dies | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: A sub-inspector, who had suffered heatstroke on May 31 while on election duty in Aurangabad, died at AIIMS-Patna on Sunday. Ram Bhajan Singh, a resident of Ganghara village in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia, was posted at Kauwakol police station in Nawada district.
SHO of Kauwakol police station Deepak Kumar said Singh was in a bus carrying EVM machines.“As the bus stopped at a fuel station amid scorching heat, he fainted. He was taken to a public health centre at Daudnagar, from where the doctors referred him to Patna. He was unconscious for the last two days and died in AIIMS-Patna on Sunday,” Kumar said.
On May 31, mercury had touched 44 Celsius in Aurangabad.
