Poet Satpathy gets Gangadhar nat’l award | Bhubaneswar News

Sambalpur: Odia poet Pratibha Satpathy was conferred with the Gangadhar National Award for Poetry-2023 during the 58th foundation day celebration of Sambalpur University on Friday.
The award, instituted in memory of poet Gangadhar Meher (1862-1924), honours distinguished Indian poets annually. It carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a shawl and a citation. Satpathy joins the ranks of poets such as Ali Sardar Jafri, Gulzar, Ramakanta Rath and Chandrasekhara Kambara, among others.
Satpathy has authored numerous poetry collections that resonate with themes of life, nature and humanity.
“This award is a tribute to the legacy of Gangadhar Meher and recognised with numerous awards and honours, Pratibha Satpathy’s contributions have elevated Odia literature to national prominence.
