PMC approves new vending zone at Sadhanapuri | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has planned to establish another dedicated vending zone at Sadhanapuri (Ward 14) like the one at Kadamkuan locality, to accommodate the street vendors currently operating near Sai Temple. It has also decided to create pre-fabricated vending zones for vegetable sellers on Bailey Road and at Sheikhpura. The decision was taken during the 15th general meeting of the empowered standing committee of the civic body here on Tuesday. Chairing the meeting, Patna mayor Sita Sahu said proper infrastructure and basic amenities will be provided to street vendors at the designated site. “The relocation will help decongest the temple area and ensure smooth traffic flow. The project aims to maintain cleanliness and improve the overall aesthetics of the area,” she said.The empowered committee members gave a nod to 18 agendas, which were tabled in the meeting, including the renaming of a link road of Gandhi Sarovar (Mangal Talab) after Red Cross Society, and the construction of roads and drains in different areas.Other decisions included the construction of deluxe toilets at Raja Ghat, under ROBC in Ward 62 and near Shanidev Temple, and repair of hand pumps and construction of submersible pumps in Ward 68 among others.To eliminate all the dark spots in the city, the civic body has approved a proposal for the supply and installation of 12.5-metre-high mast lights at major intersections and locations within the municipal area.Emphasis was placed on continuous spraying of anti-larvae chemical to prevent mosquito breeding and spread of dengue.Municipal commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar, newly appointed additional municipal commissioner Ashish Kumar, secretary Ramashish Sharan Tiwari and deputy mayor Reshmi Kumari were present at the meeting.
