Plans underway to upgrade BEST bus fleet, says CM – Times of India


Nagpur/Mumbai: Multiple measures are underway to increase and modernise the BEST bus fleet and improve citizens’ safety, said CM Devendra Fadnavis in the House. MLC Sunil Shinde flagged four accidents involving BEST buses in a week and 347 in a past year. The CM said an order for 1,300 buses was placed during Eknath Shinde’s tenure and their delivery will begin soon. Meanwhile, BEST sent two senior officers from the traffic wing to Nagpur. Sources said they will help frame replies to queries from legislators over the crash. BEST general manager Anil Diggikar said he will announce a new SOP for drivers’ training later this week. tnn
