Chennai: TVK leader Vijay on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Madras high court for speedy justice delivered in the Anna University sexual assault case and saidt the DMK regime would be unseated in ten months.In a statement, Vijay alleged that DMK partymen attempted to conceal the state govt’s administrative shortcomings in the case. The high court took suo motu cognizance of the case after protests by several political parties. He pointed to the high court’s order to the state govt to compensate the victim with 25 lakh for the mental anguish caused by the leak of the FIR due to police negligence. “Everyone knows that the DMK president is bragging about himself by telling a blatant lie without conscience that police are responsible for the present verdict,” Vijay said. “The verdict was delivered swiftly, within five months, due to the court’s suo motu cognizance despite the administrative failures of the chief minister,” he said, calling for maximum punishment for Gnanasekaran.“The govt, which failed in maintenance of law and order and providing security to women, is incompetent,” Vijay said. “People will definitely send the DMK govt home in ten months for these atrocities,” he added.
