Patna University PG Admissions First Merit List Release Date | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Patna University (PU) is likely to announce the first merit list of applicants selected for admission to the conventional postgraduate (PG) programmes in the 2024-25 session by Wednesday. The last submission date for online applications for admission to the PG courses ended on Saturday.
PU students’ welfare dean Anil Kumar said the merit list of candidates will be uploaded on the PU website on July 24.

There are 1,803 sanctioned seats in 29 regular PG courses, while the number of seats in 18 self-financed PG courses of the university is 807. While admission to the conventional PG courses would be as per the merit list prepared based on marks obtained by the applicants in their last qualifying degree examinations, the self-financing courses would admit the students based on an entrance test to be conducted by the university, he said.
Admission to professional courses like LLB, LLM, MEd, and master’s in personnel management in industrial relations will be held based on entrance tests to be conducted by the university.
In other self-financed courses, however, the conduct of the written entrance test will depend on the number of applications received from the aspirants. “If the number of applications received in a self-financing course is less than 150% of the total number of sanctioned seats, the admission would be finalised based on marks obtained in degree examinations and viva voice test,” the dean said.
