Patna to Get Metro and Flyover by 2025: District Magistrate | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Come 2025, the city residents would be able to use the Kargil Chowk-Science College flank of the double-decker flyover as well as avail the Patna metro rail services, district magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said on Wednesday. He added a link road connecting J P Ganga Path to Ashok Rajpath near Krishna Ghat will also be made ready for public by September.
The double-decker flyover from Kargil Chowk to Science College is expected to be ready by January next year, while the public will be able to avail the metro rail facility in 2025 as work is being done at a fast pace, said Singh after inspecting both the development projects on the day, besides visiting some pockets of the city.“There is no problem with Patna Metro Rail Project now.”
He started the inspection from Kargil Chowk near Gandhi Maidan, where he reviewed the work of Patna metro rail, followed by the flyover and link road.
Singh said that 100% payment has been made to the farmers in Pahari where new ISBT metro station is coming up. “Possession of land for the construction of metro stations have been done and they have been handed over to the concerned agency,” said Singh.
The DM added the officials of Patna Metro Rail Corporation and Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam were directed to coordinate with each other for alignment in the construction work near Science College. “The flyover work is being done at a fast pace. The construction of the double-decker flyover and Krishna Ghat connecting road will solve the traffic congestion to a great extent in the area, which houses Patna University, various coaching institutes and PMCH among others,” said Singh.
The administration said that 76 acres of land have been acquired in Ranipur and Pahari for the construction of the metro rail depot. Compensation of Rs 215 crore has been paid to nearly 400 land owners and the district land acquisition officer has been instructed to complete the pending payments soon. Around 33 structures in these areas are yet to be removed as the owners had sought some time, following which the subdivisional officer was told to get the work done by this month.
