Stir over, patient care restored in SCB

Bhubaneswar: Patient care services were restored at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, on Thursday, after house surgeons and nurses resumed work choosing not to continue with their agitation. Hospital authorities resolved the issue during a meeting with the two groups.
“The eight-member committee formed to probe the conflict between the two groups will submit their report on Friday. We will forward that report to the govt, and the latter will take action against the persons responsible for creating the conflict,” said SCB medical superintendent Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra.
On Wednesday, patient care was affected at SCB as house surgeons ceased work, except for emergencies, following an argument between a nursing officer and a house surgeon over attending to a patient on Sunday night.
Also, works minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Thursday directed his officials and construction company to submit a progress report on the new campus work of SCB every 15 days. He chaired a meeting to review the ongoing work of SCB’s AIIMS+ facility.
