Passenger slips while boarding train, loses legs | Bhubaneswar News

Balasore: A passenger lost both his legs after he slipped and fell while boarding the Jaleswar-Howrah MEMU train on Tuesday at Jaleswar station in Balasore district.
The victim has been identified as Nimai Jena (55), a resident of Padima village under Patashpur police station limits in East Midnapore district, West Bengal.
According to sources, Jena worked in Kolkata and had gone to Velora in Basta block of Balasore district with his wife and daughter to attend the Baruni Mela. He was returning home when the accident took place. Witnesses reported that Jena lost his balance while boarding, causing him to fall onto the tracks. He was immediately taken to the Gopi Kishan Bhattar community health centre in Jaleswar where doctors said his condition was critical.
Railway authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
