Parli assembly constituency saw large-scale booth capturing: Awhad – Times of India

Mumbai: NCP (SP) legislator Jitendra Awhad alleged on Friday that there was large-scale booth capturing in Beed district’s Parli assembly constituency on the day of polling. “Our information is that there were incidents of booth capturing of 201 booths. A gang was operating in the area,” Awhad said in the presence of defeated NCP (SP) nominee Rajesaheb Deshmukh. Cabinet member Dhananjay Munde was NCP nominee who defeated Deshmukh. “High court had declared 122 booths as sensitive and it was expected that special security cover would be provided for these booths. It was the responsibility of the district collector and superintendent of police to provide special security. Our information is that while there was attack on 201 booths, 101 booths were captured,” said Awhad. — Prafulla Marpakwar
