NEW DELHI: Security forces killed two leaders of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad, a renegade Maoist outfit, during an operation in Jharkhand’s Latehar district on Saturday, according to news agency PTI. The leaders carried rewards of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh on their heads.

Pappu Lohara, who had a Rs 10 lakh bounty, and Prabhat Ganjhu, who carried a Rs 5 lakh reward, were killed during the operation, according to sources.A member of the group was also injured and arrested during the encounter. Security forces recovered an INSAS rifle from the arrested individual.The operation against the renegade Maoists outfit remains ongoing in the Latehar district.
