Pak citizens with visas now cancelled must leave: CM | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mumbai: The state government has prepared a list of Pakistani citizens who are in the state following the cancellation of their visas by the Indian govt, said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday. All Pakistan citizens have been directed to leave India within 48 hours by the Centre.
Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Fadnavis said, “We are monitoring the situation. All police stations have been informed that they (Pakistan citizens) must leave within the given timeframe. No one whose visa has been cancelled will be allowed to stay here, and if anyone overstays, legal action will be taken,” CM Fadnavis said.
The CM said he had detailed discussions with Union home minister Amit Shah and as per his guidance, action will be taken.
Asked about the release of a film featuring a Pakistani actor, Fadnavis said, “We have no sympathy for Pakistani actors and players.”
On Maharashtra tourists in Jammu & Kashmir, Fadnavis said that those who panicked and those who had no arrangements (for stay) as the roads were closed have been brought back in large numbers.
“Those who are still there have their own arrangements, some have a flight after a day or two, so we are telling them that we will make arrangements for them there itself and they can come back as per their reservations,” he said, adding that bringing back all the tourists would take time and many already have their flight bookings. “Our efforts are that they should now come back as per their reservations and we are making arrangements for them over there,” he said.
Attacking the Shiv Sena (UBT) for skipping the all-party meeting called by the Centre in the aftermath of the Pahalgam massacre, Fadnavis said it is the country’s history that all parties have stood together at such moments. “When the enemy attacks, then Indian parties have never taken a partisan stance. During the Bangladesh war, Atal Behari Vajpayee stood firmly with Indira Gandhi, but today the pettiness, small-mindedness being displayed… the people of the country will not forgive,” he said.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant had skipped the all-party meet called by Union minister of parliamentary affairs Kiren Rijiju on Thursday citing “unavoidable circumstances” but had said that his party stood firmly with the decisions and actions initiated by the Centre to counter the Kashmir attack. Sawant is the floor leader of the party in Parliament.
Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut had said on Thursday that Sawant had some parliamentary work and could not attend the meeting. “I did not go because I did not want to create discord. Sawant is a straight and clear speaker,” he said. “We have made it clear that we will support the govt in any decisions it takes,” he said. “It will also be nice if they take suggestions from the opposition since these parties have also ruled at the Centre,” Raut had said.
